In this article you will learn how to change the theme of your Booklee guidebook and how to change your guidebook settings.
You can change the design/theme of your guidebook.
You can also change important settings for your guidebook such as:
- The link of your guidebook
- Guidebook metadata
- Default button labels/names
1. Changing the design of your guidebook
Change the colour/theme of your guidebook.
- On your guidebook editor, click on "Design".
- Then select a theme you want to have for your guidebook.
You will immediately see the changes on the right hand side.
2. Showing a map on the guidebook landing page
You can display an interactive map on your main guidebook page for your guests.
By default, all guidebooks have the map active and it is displayed to your guests.
If you want to hide it:
- On your guidebook editor, click on "Settings".
- Go to the "General" section.
- Click on the "Green slider" button next to "Show map on first page" to hide it.
- If you want to make it active, simply click the same slider button again.

3. Changing the link of your guidebook
You can change the unique link of your guidebook.
By default your guidebooks will have link like this one: bookl.ee/guideboks/[your property name]
To edit it:
- On your guidebook editor, click on "Settings".
- Then under the "General" section, you can edit your guidebook link.
- Once you have completed your changes, click on "Update" to save your unique link.

Custom domain for your guidebook
You can also have a custom domain for your guidebook.
An example of a custom domain could be: cozylodgeguide.com or guide.cozylodge.com
To set up a custom domain for your guidebook:
- If you don't have one, purchase a domain name that you like. We suggest using services such as GoDaddy or Namecheap.
- Once you have acquired a domain name for your guidebook, email adams@bookl.ee with a subject line "Custom domain".
- You'll then receive instructions on how to connect your custom domain.
4. Changing the metadata of your guidebook
You can change the metadata of your guidebook.
To edit your guidebook metadata:
- On your guidebook editor, click on "Settings".
- Then under the "Page Metadata" section, you can edit your guidebook metadata.
- Once you have completed your changes, click on "Update" to save the changes.
Metadata is the information your guests see once you share your guidebook link with them:
- The title of your guidebook.
- The preview text (description) of your guidebook.
- The open graph (social) image of your guidebook.
5. Changing default button labels/names
You change the names of default buttons:
- "Home" button
- "Back" button
- "Open in map" button
- "Show on map" button
- "Get directions" button
TIP: Other hosts change the default names of the buttons in case they want to completely change the language of their guidebook e.g. from English to Spanish.
To edit the names of your guidebook's default buttons:
- On your guidebook editor, click on "Settings".
- Then under the "Button Labels" section, you can edit the names of your default buttons.
- Once you have completed your changes, click on "Update" to save the changes.
